| ***This will likely be my last post on Xanga. I have moved my blog, please see below for where you can find it now. Everybody should move their blogs! =)
Greetings from New Jersey!
First things first: you're getting this e-mail because you either told
me you wanted to receive my updates from graduate school, or because I
thought you might want to receive my updates from graduate school. If
either of these are not true, let me know and I'll take you off the
list, no hard feelings. Alternatively, if you know someone I know and
you think they might appreciate getting them, please feel free to
forward it.
Sorry to slow you down...
After a semi-grueling 3,007 mile drive by myself across the country, I
have arrived at Princeton Theological Seminary! I am very torn between
excitement, fear, nervousness, and eagerness. We had the first two
scheduled orientation events this evening....a worship service, which
was perfect because God used it to speak so powerfully to me as I sat
in the chapel for the first time as a student, and a picnic with the
faculty and administration, which was yummy. I saw the other Westmont
grad who is an entering student this year, had dinner with her and a
couple of her friends, and then proceeded to unload my very, very, very
full car into my very, very, very large room. I was fortunate enough to
get into my first choice dorm, which is also the most popular and have
now moved all my stuff in. It's still in a pile in the middle of the
floor, but it's in. =)
My new blog can be found at MastersOfEspresso.blogspot.com. I'll hopefully be updating it frequently with the musings of what it means to be in grad school....and other stuff too!
Sorry this is short, but I am exhausted. I'll write more
later...promise. In the meantime, I would appreciate prayers for
adjusting to a new place, a new culture, and a new climate all away
from everything that's familiar to me, as well as new friends and
floormates that I want to build relationships with.
Thanks, and love you all!

| So apparently I haven't been around Xanga much, 'cause I just saw Brenton's demand from last Thursday that everyone post a blog today. That being said, I have lots I want to talk about and lots going through my head and tons of things I've been trying to process these past couple of weeks...moving, packing, preparing emotionally for school, etc., but none of them seem to want to come out in verbal form right now.
So, instead I'll say a couple of "other things"...
As Jules mentioned in her blog, she and I have decided to move to Blogspot, and hopefully take all of you with us. =) We have both decided that this dear Xanga, with all it's given us, may be getting a little too teeny-bopper. So, I plan to make the move sometime this week. I feel a new blog is in order for this new chapter in my life. I'll let you know what the new name will be.
Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure you all know, but just in case you didn't, I will be moving to New Jersey in about 2 weeks to attend grad school. I'll be getting my Master of Divinity from Princeton and my Master of Social Work from Rutgers University. It's like going to college all over again (4 years), except with better financial aid and more seasons. =) I'm very torn about leaving though. I've been in Santa Barbara for over twice as long as I've been anywhere since I graduated from high school. And the new stuff isn't close enough yet that I can be excited so all I can do right now is be sad about what's ending.
This week I'll also send out my test/welcome e-mail for my grad-school-update list, so if you'd like to be on it, and you're not sure if you will be, let me know.
There will be lots of packing and saying goodbyes (or see-you-laters) and sadness this week. Feel free to send encouragement and happiness my way and prayers on my behalf if you're the praying type.
Love you all!
